Remove steak from packaging, lightly salt top, and set aside.
Place a 12" cast iron pan over medium heat and add butter.
When the cast is hot and butter has melted, add the steak, tomatoes, and garlic. Sear steak for 5-7 minutes on each side. Place a lid on the cast iron to increase doneness and lessen charring.
Remove the steak from heat and place on a chopping block to rest for 5 minutes.
Drizzle pesto on top of steak, followed by tomato and garlic mixture.
Slice steak, working against the grain of the meat, in 1" wide pieces, and serve!
